JOB SUMMARY

Manages all engineering/maintenance operations| including maintaining the
building| grounds and physical plant with particular attention towards safety|
security and asset protection. Accountable for managing the budget| capital
expenditure projects| preventative maintenance and energy conservation.
Responsible for maintaining regulatory requirements. Leads the emergency
response team for all facility issues.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the engineering and
maintenance or related professional area; technical training in
HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction|

The role of Senior/Principal Power Systems and Network Planning engineer
requires a thorough understanding of all aspects of transmission and
distribution planning for both regulated and industrial networks. The role
requires hands on capabilities with respect to commonly used power system
analysis tools with a particular focus on PSS/E and PSCAD. PowerFactory and
ETAP expertise is desirable. A practical understanding of the regulatory-
economic- and social aspects of power system planning will complement this
detailed technical understanding.

As part of this role you will:

Undertake Grid Connection due diligence including desk top and system studies

Support clients in negotiating with regulator and market operator (AEMO) and Network Service Providers the best grid connection outcomes for their projects

Support negotiation of Connection Agreements including Technical Schedules

Deliver concept design services and grid connection advice to clients

Develops reports for new connection generators

Project manage medium to large scale projects

Proactively identify opportunities for business process(es) improvement

Participate in business development such as drafting proposal- expression of interest- cost/fee estimates etc.

Liaises with OEMs and clients for technical/commercial issues.

Technical Requirements and Knowledge

Technical due diligence on project development connection options and analyze network capacity and constraint assessment (including both desk top and power system studies)

Technical review of grid connection capability of various renewable technology such as Wind Turbines- PV & Battery Inverters- Pumped Hydro etc.

Development of connection concept SLDs to feed into the feasibility and detailed studies

Detailed technical studies using PSS/e and PSCAD software platforms to assess compliance against the relevant technical requirements of the National Electricity Rules for generation projects including completion of Static and Dynamic power system studies for the project

Develop voltage and Reactive control design philosophy for the generating facility for different connection configurations and connection voltages including varying system strength of the connecting network

Review of generating system vendor model documentation (such as design and system data sheets- RUG etc.)

Support proponents in negotiating the Generator Performance Standards (GPS)- and associated connection agreements and deeds etc.

Review and assessment of AEMO & Network Service Provider`s technical requirements of Connection Assets such as primary- protection- control- and monitoring requirements

Negotiate the scope of interface works required to connect the generating facility

Be able to manage- the generation registration process.

Perform Transient Analysis using EMT model in PSCAD as required by AMEO and NSPs
