Location

This iconic Resort is situated between the renowned Great Barrier Reef and the
Daintree Rainforest in Tropical North Queensland. The resort comprises 295
guest rooms| suites and boutique self contained villas.

Department

The Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort is seeking a highly skilled and
experienced Assistant Front Office Manager. The position reports to
directly to the Front Office Manager.

Main Responsibilities

Providing all guests at the resort with a superior| personalised and memorable experience by greeting and assisting guests with any query/requirements in a professional and timely manner

Coaching and developing new and existing team members in line with company requirements and 5 service standards

Conducting scheduled and ad-hoc performance reviews with team members and following up with action/development plans accordingly

Taking ownership for any guest issues or queries and working collaboratively with the rest of the Front Office team and other areas of the resort to resolve them in a timely and effective manner

Deputising in the absence of the Front Office Manager and attending any meetings in his/her absence.

Ensuring the presentation of the front office and other areas of the hotel are consistently up to high standards

Supporting with recruitment and selection of new team members

Prepare monthly outlook/forecast reports|

Prepare work schedules| rosters and annual leave schedules within budget| business expectations

Participate in the preparation of the Strategic Business and Operating Plan.

Ensure the guest|s privacy is maintained at all times.

Requirements

To be successful in this position you will need to possess the following minimum requirements:

A positive ‘can-do’ management style with the ability to motivate and enthusiastically lead a large team

A flexible approach with the ability to identify and successfully implement new initiatives and problem-solving solutions

A collaborative and open communication style

Previous experience in a similar role / senior front office team member role (Reception Supervisor| Guest Services Manager etc…)

Experience of working with a Property Management System – preferably Opera (mandatory)

High school certificate or equivalent qualification (required) with Tertiary qualifications (desirable)

Experience in similar role within an International standard 4 or 5 star Hotel (mandatory)
