Location
This iconic Resort is situated between the renowned Great Barrier Reef and the
Daintree Rainforest in Tropical North Queensland. The resort comprises 295
guest rooms| suites and villas.

Department
We are currently seeking an Executive Sous Chef who can foster and build
strong relationships and create exceptional culinary experiences for our
guests. A strong leader who has a great passion for developing young talent
and enjoys interaction with people. The position reports directly to the
Executive Chef.
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience as a Sous Chef is essential.
Trade qualified with strong HACCP knowledge
A passion for food| keeping up-to-date with food trends with emphasis on new and local produce.
Experience with international cuisine and a drive to achieve excellence in food quality through the culinary team.
Strong experience in A la Carte| Buffet and Banquet operations
Possess excellent communication skills
True desire to succeed in this profession
Previous 5 Star Experience in a larger kitchen brigade is highly regarded
Willing to work on rotating roster over a 7 day working week
Foster an environment of highly motivated and skilled chefs
Preferred applicants will have valid working rights to work in Australia. Sponsorship will not be available for this position
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
Assisting with the supervision| motivation and training and developing of junior chefs
Assisting the Executive Chef with kitchen recruitment and selection
Flexible approach in adapting to guest requests
Assist in the preparation of rosters| budgets| and standards operating procedures
Undertake and supervise daily food preparation in anticipation and response of service requirements.
Be totally involved in the hotel|s operation keeping up-to-date with events within the hotel
