Location

The Westin Melbourne hotel is an oasis in the heart of the city’s bustling

Department:

Allegro is The Westin Melbourne|s signature restaurant serving contemporary
Australian cuisine.

Job Description:

Responsible for coordinating the work of the Food and Beverage Attendants in an efficient manner| whilst maintaining quality and standards.
Have a full knowledge of the outlet operations and roles therein.
Ensure all food and beverage items served to our guests are of the highest standard and presentation.
Understand and supervise opening and closing procedures including a thorough knowledge of the Point of Sale System.
Assign associates to their stations and inform of any special requests such as VIP or returning guests.
Ensure linen exchange procedures are followed with care.
Ensure all front and back of house areas are cleaned and equipment stocked.
Handle customer concerns with a concerning and understanding attitude as per the hotel|s standards.
Actively solicit guest feedback in order to seek continual improvement in service and to ensure guest satisfaction.
Communicate all comments and feedback from guests and associates to the Restaurant Manager.
Ensure all special guest requests are followed through to the relevant departments and charges are raised accordingly.
Ensure sales are maximised through suggestive upselling.
Assist with development and performance reviews and ongoing |On the Job| training to ensure that associates have the necessary skills to perform their job efficiently and effectively.
Implement opportunities for quality Team Building.
Ensure that all associates comply with the grooming and uniform standards.
Assist in preparation of work rosters and annual leave schedules within budget| business expectations and guidelines of the Enterprise Agreement.
Assist in the selection and appointment of new associates within the department.
Ensure all Liquor Licensing Laws are abided by and understand the correct procedures for handling intoxicated and underage guests.
Personally ensure compliance with all relevant Workplace Health & Safety and Occupational Health & Safety legislation| and related The Westin Melbourne and Marriott International Policies.
Undertake other duties as required by the Venues Manager.
Comply with and abide by all hotel polices and procedure and information as outlined in Associate handbook
Comply with Marriott International|s Worldwide Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and the Policy against Insider training at all times.

Requirements:

Experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel restaurant environment or highly regarded restaurant essential.
Valid Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol and Food Safety and Hygiene certificates.
Advanced food and beverage service and wine knowledge.
Strong attention to detail and customer focus.
Excellent communication| organizational and service recovery skills.
Must have the flexibility to work on 7 day roster including public holidays and weekends.
