About the role
In your new role you will be responsible for working with the Maintenance
Department to provide uninterrupted service to our guests and to maintain
proper condition of tools| equipment| and working areas throughout the hotel.
In addition to the normal trade work| all positions within the Maintenance
Department assist with other trade works and non-trade| general maintenance
work as appropriate including but not limited to:
Air conditioning maintenance
Refrigeration repairs| installation and maintenance
Painting| carpentry and decorating
Cleaning of plant areas and switch rooms
Duties/responsibilities
Perform work related to your trade qualification
Perform day-to-day general maintenance duties within the hotel rooms and public areas| including but not limited to small carpentry| plumbing and general maintenance
Respond promptly to issues pertaining to your area of expertise
Work closely with the Maintenance Team on any projects or schedules
Maintain all tools| equipment| and working areas in proper condition
Understand and have the ability to or learn to monitor mechanical services plant
Follow Workplace Health & Safety rules within the Department and the hotel
Demonstrate exceptional customer service when engaging with Guests
Perform any other tasks as requested by the Facilities Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel
General maintenance
Skills/experience
Trade certificate qualified – essential
Trade qualified in Electrical – highly desirable
Must be flexible with the ability to work a variety of shifts including; weekends| days| afternoons and evenings
Previous maintenance experience| preferably in a hotel or a similar varied work environment such as ships| hospitals or retail businesses
General maintenance knowledge
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to be self motivated| work without close supervision and within established timeframes
Strong work ethic
A passion for managing a variety of projects and tasks throughout the day
It would be advantageous for you to demonstrate the following capabilities:
Experience in a similar position within a 5 star hotel or resort environment
Passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service
